Accessibility statement
Gagzoo is for everyone, including people with disabilities. We work to make the website usable with a keyboard, a screen reader, zoom and on small screens, and to fix what we find. Some parts do not yet meet that goal; they are listed under "Known limitations".
The standard we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA. That is the technical level referred to by the European standard EN 301 549 (used under the European Accessibility Act) and the level generally applied to websites under United States accessibility law (such as the Americans with Disabilities Act). We also aim to meet the accessibility standards that apply to our operator's home jurisdiction.
Where we are
Gagzoo partially conforms. We have tested the public pages (home, Explore, Greetings, Create and the editor, share pages, and the information pages) with an automated checker and fixed many issues, and we keep checking at every release. We have not yet had an external accessibility expert review the site, and we have not tested with every combination of browser and assistive technology.
What is in place
- A "Skip to content" link, page titles, headings and landmarks on the main website pages and on the editor page, which also sets its language (for example Hebrew) so screen readers use the right voice.
- The website pages, forms, dialogs and the editor can be used with a keyboard only: every control is reachable, has a visible focus and a name, and there are no keyboard traps (tested 12 October 2026).
- In the editor you can move through the video with the arrow keys on the position slider, select any sticker, text or effect from the timeline, move it with the arrow keys (Shift for bigger steps), and change its size, rotation, timing and text with named buttons. Changes are announced.
- Dialogs keep keyboard focus inside while they are open, close with Escape, and return focus to where you were. Short messages such as "Report sent" are announced by screen readers.
- Layouts that adapt from phones to desktop.
- Form fields have labels and clear error messages.
- Sticker buttons in the editor are named, so a screen reader announces what each one is.
- Text, buttons, form field borders and keyboard focus outlines on the public pages were checked for colour contrast, with an automated tool and by measuring the screen (including text on coloured and gradient backgrounds), and what fell below WCAG AA was fixed (13 and 14 October 2026).
- Gallery cards have one clear link each, and their like, comment and view counts are read as text.
- On the share page and in the website editor's Show mode there is a mute button and a volume slider that control the video and the Gagzoo's own sounds together, so audio that plays for more than three seconds can always be silenced or turned down (WCAG 1.4.2). Both work with a keyboard and a screen reader, and remember your choice on this device.
- Gagzoo respects your device's "reduce motion" setting: no shaking, spinning, flashing, confetti or wiggling stickers. Whatever the setting, the flash effect never flashes more than three times a second.
Known limitations
- Captions in a Gagzoo sit on top of a moving video. We checked each caption style for contrast over light, dark and busy video frames, but a caption can still be hard to read for a moment when the picture behind it changes.
- We tested keyboard use and the accessibility tree of the main pages and the editor on 12 October 2026, and the language, direction and layout of the Hebrew pages on phones and desktop on 14 October 2026, and fixed what we found. We have not yet tested with real screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack), and we have not tested the editor in Arabic or Persian in depth.
- Stickers and effects on a Gagzoo are animated unless your device is set to reduce motion. Creators can add effects such as shake or flash; if you are sensitive to motion, turn on "reduce motion" in your device settings and Gagzoo will show stickers and text without the movement.
- The video itself is played by YouTube. Captions, audio description and the player's own accessibility depend on YouTube and on whoever uploaded the video.
- GIFs come from KLIPY and may have no text description.
- The Chrome extension is a separate surface and has not been audited yet.
